What is an Infrared Sauna?

An infrared sauna uses infrared energy to heat the body in resonance, as opposed to a traditional sauna which heats the air first, then the hot air heats your body. This makes breathing in an infrared sauna much easier than in a traditional sauna. Infrared saunas produce more detoxing by heating deeper into the body’s tissues~ activating the sweat glands. The sweat glands are one of a few mechanisms that the body has to eliminate toxins. The skin is the human’s largest organ so this is a great way to eliminate a lot of stored toxins to then reap many health benefits.

The therapeutic value of an infrared sauna is created by increasing body temperature via sending a frequency that resonates with your body’s water molecules. The molecules will vibrate and the voltage of your cells is increased~ creating body temperature to increase, supporting the environment of your whole body to heal.

The far-infrared rays of a sauna penetrate into the body the way the far-infrared rays of the sun does. Deep penetrating warmth and its ultraviolet properties give humans photosynthesis, helps with our circadian rhythm, helps with our vitamin D and production and absorption of all minerals. Benefits of Using Infrared Sauna

Spending time in infrared heat will remove harmful toxins from your body. Detox benefits are so abundant- let’s name a few: improved skin, more restful sleep, weight loss + anti-inflammatory benefits, decreased stress, anxiety + depression.

Infrared heat stimulates blood circulation (which improves organ function, strengthens your immune system, + decreases cellulite). It regulates your metabolism, hormones, increases cell-regeneration. Relief from stiff joints, sore muscles + menstrual cramps, cardio-vascular benefits + calorie-burning equal to doing cardio! It boosts your immune system.

Using infrared sauna therapy may be a powerful treatment against seasonal affective disorder. Sessions can provide healing S.A.D. by assisting in positive serotonin uptake, stabilizing circadian rhythm with more accessible melatonin, higher levels of endorphins and dopamine release.

An infrared sauna session promotes a sense of relaxation by bringing your nervous system into para-sympathetic mode. An overall self-care winner.

 

Know Before You Go

*Please bring a towel to sit on and a water bottle. Drink water before, during and after a session to enable your body to sweat properly and reap the most detox benefits.*

*We do not offer a shower facility. A mist bottle of cold water + essential oils is provided w a hand towel to pre-cleanse your body before leaving the studio. We suggest you book your sauna sessions for when you are going home afterwards to shower.*

*Please do not book a sauna session on the same visit as a waxing session.*

*Our infrared sauna sessions are set for 50 minutes. You may exit the sauna at any time. The recommended length of time to be in there is 30-45mins. You know your body best so listen to it and exit when you feel is best for you!*

We are not able to provide medical guidance to you and by law we recommend that you speak to a physician or naturopathic doctor if you are unsure about starting new things pertaining to your body. 

*We sanitize our sauna and the entire sauna room after each session.* [Additionally, infrared light is anti-microbial!]

Legal disclaimer: Please consult with a doctor before introducing infrared sauna therapy to your life. For example if you are pregnant or suffer from chronic diseases. Drinking alcohol prior to your infrared sauna session is prohibited.

When To Go

We recommend implementing a routine of a weekly infrared sauna session.

Infrared sauna sessions are particularly beneficial while doing a cleanse. This is because the body is already in flushing-toxins-out mode, and the infrared sauna further assists with this, so you will heighten your cleanse results. A plan you could go by while using infrared sauna therapy during a cleanse is to come in a once a week for 1 month before you start a cleanse and once a week for 2-4 weeks after your cleanse is over. Keeping up with a weekly infrared sauna session is an amazing practice / routine to regularly cleanse the body.

Make sure to replenish your electrolytes by using a trace minerals supplement or by putting a pinch of pink Himalayan sea salt into all your drinking water.
